The
Hunter Spouses' Club supported the Savannah Triathlon Association
by sponsoring a triathlon on Hunter Post. On September 17, about
200 athletes came out early in the morning in groups, teams, and
as individuals, to swim, bike, and run for the first time in this
event. The weather was great; we had no traces of Hurricane Hanna
to cause delays or postponements, or even choppy water in the
river! The race was a huge success and the HSC received a $7,000
check from the association to support our Scholarship and Welfare
projects. The Savannah Morning News and WTOC also covered the
event. Participants were grouped by age, and awards were presented
to winners in individual, indiviual Military, team, and team Military
categories.
