I want to personally welcome everyone to the Hunter Spouses' Club's 2011-2012 year. I hope everyone has had a terrific summer and that this letter finds you all happy and well! It is that time again; time to get our new year underway. We have a wonderful year planned for you and I hope that you will all join us for fun, fellowship, good food, great entertainment and community service.

The HSC kicked off with our first luncheon on August 23rd at a new location. We hold luncheons at the Richmond Hill City Center, in Richmond Hill, due to the Hunter Club being closed for renovations. I want to thank Richmond Hill City Center for hosting a few luncheons for us until the Hunter Club is reopened on Hunter Army Airfield. Luncheons will provide you an opportunity to socialize, meet new people, eat lunch and get spoiled! Please know that you must sign up for membership. You can sign up here, or you can sign up at a luncheon. You can bring a guest with you, but if someone comes as your guest and they are eligible to be a member, they can only come as your guest one time. This luncheon will provide you with the same fortune of good food, great people, opportunity prizes, vendors and an honored unit of the month, which will receive $1.00 off their lunch.

We have some wonderful events planned for you this year to include: our annual Basket Auction in November, Bunco in January, a scavenger hunt on the Riverfront in March and a fashion show in April. This is just a taste of some of the events that will be coming up. Our luncheons will be held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month; however, some luncheon dates may be subject to change with prior notice. This club is a good way for you to get away and enjoy other adults and have some fun! If you want to learn about what the theme will be for that month and/or find out about other activi-ties that are going on, please visit our website each month for more information.

We will also have several special activities going on throughout the year that will keep you having fun and may touch on interests you might have, such as a Lunch Bunch that will meet several times throughout the year. This is a fun way to learn about and enjoy the local "flavor" of Savannah restaurants. This has been a huge success for the last three years and I encourage you all to come along with us and make it another huge success! There will be a Wine Club and a Book Club.

I want to thank all of the ladies who stepped up to volunteer for the board this year. You are all truly amazing women. I thank you from the bot-tom of my heart for all of the hard work you have done over the summer and will continue to do throughout the year for this club and the HAAF community.

If any of you are interested in getting more involved in a volunteer aspect for our club, we will have opportunities throughout the year for you to come and help out. Volunteerism is truly an amazing way to give back to those in need and to make new friends while you are at it. I highly recommend volunteering and getting involved, it is good for the mind, body and spirit! Again, welcome to the 2011-2012 Hunter Spouses' Club year.
